Distinguished Teaching Awards Announced

At the conclusion of the meeting, we will announce the three distinguished teaching award recipients followed by a reception in their honor.  Please join us to celebrate your colleagues.  The agenda for the faculty meeting is short, so plan to stop in by 4:00 pm if you want to be sure to see the awards.

Commencement and Convocation

COME CELEBRATE THE SUCCESS OF OUR STUDENTS!!

As a reminder, all full time faculty members are expected to attend Convocation and Commencement as outlined in the Faculty Handbook under roles and responsibilities of faculty.  But more importantly, students tell us how important it is to them that YOU are present to celebrate with them.  Please come make these days special for our students.

Convocation Information

Spring Convocation will be held on Friday May 13, 2016 at 4:00pm in the Silver Center – Hanaway Theatre.  Convocation is a presentation of Senior Awards.

If you are not a member of the platform party we ask that you assemble in the Studio Theatre by 3:30pm where a section will be designated for robing prior to the processional.  The processional will begin at 3:55 p.m.

If you are a platform party member you will report to the dressing rooms backstage at 3:30pm. Additionally, an email will be sent to you with detailed instructions on Wednesday, May 11th.

All faculty are welcome to attend a reception immediately following Convocation in the lobby.

Davis ’63 Track at ALLWell North.  Line up begins at 9:00am in the ALLWell North parking garage (below the building).  Access to ALLWell North is from N.  River St.  The processional will begin promptly at 9:40am.  All information is online at: www.plymouth.edu/commencement.

Parking at  the Ice Arena is VERY LIMITED and we would like to provide this parking for family and guests.  There will be no parking at ALLWell North. You are strongly encouraged to park on the main campus and walk to ALLWell North. For those of you with ADA parking needs, there will be ADA parking available at the Welcome Center parking lot with golf cart assistance.

Refreshments will be available in the Outdoor Center (lower level of ALLWell North).  Coat racks will also be available at the Outdoor Center for robing.  We ask that you do not bring bags or valuables with you as this area will not be secure.

Voluntary Procession from the HUB

If you wish, you may meet with graduates on the Alumni Green in front of the HUB beginning at 7:45 a.m. with the intent of walking to ALLWell North at 8:30 a.m. (weather permitting). This procession is voluntary.  In a return to tradition, the bagpipers will lead the procession.

Processional

Both students and faculty will line up in the ALLWell North parking garage (below the building) with faculty on the south side and students on the north side.  If you do not wish to process from the HUB, you can meet your students between 9 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. in the parking garage.   Students not participating in the walk from campus will report directly to the ALLWell parking garage at 9 a.m.

By 9:15 a.m., all faculty (except deans and chairs) should be in the faculty line up area on the south side of the parking garage.  Deans and chairs should be with students, as they will process in leading their students.
