A Better Campus (ABC) is a movement that asks each of us how we can create a better campus for everyone. ABC calls us to integrate PSU’s motto, Ut prosim, into our interactions with the community, so that we lead with a sense of service to each other. The core tenets of ABC can be summarized in the following statements:
We believe that everyone deserves to feel like they are respected, accepted, and appreciated as part of the PSU community.
We protect this community by addressing how systemic oppression makes some of us feel less-than or like outsiders.
We strive to make all members of our community feel welcome by listening intently, practicing kindness, and valuing every individual.
ABC’s main presentation is provided at the beginning of each semester as part of the orientation program. Throughout the semester smaller trainings and workshops are provided as a way to enhance our understanding of different groups and identities. ABC also publishes information on our Facebook page to keep the campus community engaged in the themes of this movement.
