Submitting Evaluations
All evaluations are submitted in Taskstream. A welcome email to Taskstream is sent to your school email at the beginning of the internship. Here is a help guide for using Taskstream.

Road To Teacher Certification Requirements
The undergraduate and graduate level teacher candidacy handbooks are here. Decision Points 1 and 2 must be completed by March 1st, 2022. Praxis Core or the SAT waiver approval must be on file with the Holmes Center. Please refer to the Road to Certification for more information and check your Taskstream account.
Internship in Teaching Application
Application posted:  Internship in Teaching Application: 2022-2023 Year-Long .  Due date was February 15th, 2022. The ‘application’ is for placement purposes only (not to be admitted to the program).
Matching Process
The Holmes Center clinical coordinator works with the program coordinators to assign interns to their placements and mentors. Multiple factors are taken into consideration when placing interns and matching them with mentors, including:

  • needs of K-12 partner schools
  • needs of individual programs and/or accreditation requirements
  • university-school partnerships are given top priority
  • location of intern’s residence during internship
  • prior field experience of intern
  • intern requests
Confirmation Sheet
Students will have the opportunity to meet with potential mentor teachers during the Spring 2022 semester. The signed confirmation sheet is most efficiently completed at the initial intern-mentor meeting but it is due by October 15, 2022. Students may not register for the internship until this form is submitted to the Holmes Center. PSU course registration for spring 2023 begins on October 31, 2022. The confirmation sheet is a fillable form, but it can also be printed and submitted as such or as a scan via email. The mentor teacher and principal must complete their section and sign. It is the intern’s responsibility to get the form completed and submit it.
Background Check
Please contact your placement school SAU office to complete the background check requirements for the internship. New Hampshire state law requires the SAU to have the background check results in their office before the internship begins.
Code of Conduct/Code of Ethics
The New Hampshire State Board of Education on Nov. 8, 2018, approved the Educator Code of Conduct, following the approval of an educator Code of Ethics in June 2018. This combined set of rules and procedures is not in response to any one circumstance or incident, but are designed to build on the high standards of the state’s educators, elevate the education profession, and provide guidance to educators.
Seminar I

This mandatory 3-hour session is an opportunity to meet with principals and superintendents to discuss the hiring process. Educational Leaders will share best practices for excelling during the interview.  Professional Dress is required. Date: Friday, March 26 2023; 9- 11AM.

  • A workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 7-8PM for those interns wishing to have educator tailored guidance for preparing effective resumes and cover letters.
  • An educators’ job fair will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 9-11AM for those interns wishing to network with NH administrators for the purpose of finding and expressing interest in employment opportunities.
Seminar III: Internship Wrap Up
At the end of the internship, the Holmes Center will review the NHDOE Licensure process and discuss next steps after graduation.  Program completers are asked to complete a survey and provide qualitative feedback on the Internship Experience. Please review the NH Licensure requirements page for more information. The date for this mandatory seminar is Friday, May 5, 9-11AM.

Cohort II Evaluation

This evaluation form is completed in Taskstream by the mentor teacher near the end of the fall semester.

Lesson Documentation

In the fall, students are required to teach four lessons. Students will complete this form to document those lessons and have it approved by the mentor teacher, to be handed in to the practicum instructor at the end of the semester.

The educational leader will share best practices for excelling during the interview.  Professional Dress is required. Date: TBD (October 2023) In addition, fall 2023 interns are welcome to attend the Seminar II event held in March of 2024. (See the spring internship calendar for more information.)
Seminar III: Internship Wrap Up and Licensure Overview
At the end of the internship, the Holmes Center will review the NHDOE Licensure process and discuss next steps after graduation. Program completers are asked to complete a survey and provide qualitative feedback on the Internship Experience. Background Check
Please contact the SAU office to complete the background check requirements for the internship. New Hampshire state law requires the SAU to have the background check results in their office before the internship begins.
Code of Conduct/Code of Ethics
The New Hampshire State Board of Education on Nov. 8, 2018, approved the Educator Code of Conduct, following the approval of an educator Code of Ethics in June 2018. This combined set of rules and procedures is not in response to any one circumstance or incident, but are designed to build on the high standards of the state’s educators, elevate the education profession, and provide guidance to educators.

Cohort II Evaluation

This evaluation form is completed in Taskstream by the mentor teacher near the end of the fall semester.

Lesson Documentation

In the fall, students are required to teach four lessons. Students will complete this form to document those lessons and have it approved by the mentor teacher, to be handed in to the practicum instructor at the end of the semester.

Seminar I
Seminar I is required for all interns. The Holmes Center will host a meeting to explain the ins and outs of your internship. Mentors and University Supervisors will experience similar material in their internship overview and training sessions. Seminar I includes:

➢ Overview of your internship calendar including dates for events such as resume workshopping, Seminar II, and Seminar III

➢ Overview of the Internship in Teaching policies and this handbook

➢ Review of the Evaluation Competencies Rubric for your program

➢ Co-teaching training

➢ Lesson planning expectations and guidance

➢ Review of the NH Codes of Conduct & Ethics

TCAP submission in Taskstream

Here are directions for submitting the TCAP in Taskstream. For the video submission, Taskstream accepts all types of video formats in the application. However, the most popular video format that  students upload in Taskstream is ‘MP4.’ You may have to condense the video file before submitting. Here is a guide created by Taskstream for condensing a video.

Seminar II: Preparing for Employment
This mandatory 3-hour session is an opportunity to meet with principals and superintendents to discuss the hiring process. Educational Leaders will share best practices for excelling during the interview.  Professional Dress is required. Date: Friday, March TBD, 2024; 9-11AM.

  • A workshop will be held in early March for those interns wishing to have educator tailored guidance for preparing effective resumes and cover letters.
  • An educators’ job fair will be held in April for those interns wishing to network with NH administrators for the purpose of finding and expressing interest in employment opportunities.
Seminar III: Internship Wrap Up
At the end of the internship, the Holmes Center will review the NHDOE Licensure process and discuss next steps after graduation. Program completers are asked to complete a survey and provide qualitative feedback on the Internship Experience. Please review the NH Licensure requirements page for more information. Road To Teacher Certification Requirement
The undergraduate and graduate level teacher candidacy handbooks are here. Decision Points 1 and 2 must be completed by September 1st, 2023. Passing Praxis Core scores or the SAT waiver approval must be on file with the Holmes Center. Praxis II scores are required for certain Graduate Programs. Please refer to the Road to Certification for more information and check your Taskstream account.

Matching Process
The Holmes Center clinical coordinator works with the program coordinators to assign interns to their placements and mentors. Multiple factors are taken into consideration when placing interns and matching them with mentors, including:

  • needs of K-12 partner schools
  • needs of individual programs and/or accreditation requirements
  • university-school partnerships are given top priority
  • location of intern’s residence during internship
  • prior field experience of intern
  • intern requests
