Plymouth State University’s Athletic Training Program’s three-year (2014-2016) aggregate first-time pass rate on the Board of Certification national examination for athletic trainers was 69% (9 students), falling below the 70% requirement which caused us to be placed on Probation. The overall pass rate for that same period was 85% (11 students). During that three year period, of the 14 students who graduated from the program, 13 took the exam. Plymouth State University is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program has been placed on Probation as of February 24, 2017, by the CAATE, 6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731-3101. Even though the program’s three-year (2015-2017) aggregate first-time pass rate of the Board of Certification national examination for athletic trainers is 73% (8 students) meeting the 70% minimum pass rate requirement, the program’s probation status will not be reviewed until February 2018.. The overall pass rate for this period is 91% (10 students). During this three year period, of the 11 students who graduated from the program, all took the exam.
