Internships

Math internships have been student-generated in the past. Although some have occurred due to faculty contacts, most have come about because a student wants to gain some experience in a given field. Our interns have most recently been employed primarily by software and insurance companies, although we have had one who interned as an industrial engineer/statistician for a local company (interning under a former PSU student), as well as one who interned at Argonne National Laboratory.

The department also offers a course, MA4600 – Internship in the Mathematical Sciences, which allows students to earn up to six credits per internship.
