Young Writers Institute

About the Young Writers Institute

The NWPNH Young Writers Institute is a residential writing program for students entering grades 9-12, located in Plymouth, New Hampshire. The 2019 season includes a week-long session. It will run from July 14th-19th. During this sessions, they will live in a residential dorm on the Plymouth State University campus and be supervised by counselors and university students. Their days will include opportunities for creative writing, led by fellow writers and experienced NWPNH teachers.

Evening program will be provided. In the past, this has included, but is not limited to: ice skating, movie nights, board games, Concerts in the Commons, Shakespeare in the Amphitheater, group games, author visits, art projects, and swimming in the university pool. At the end of each week, students will read at a Friday Celebration for program leaders, young writers, and families.

Cost for one week: $595

Cost for two weeks: $1190

Our purpose is to create a community of writers, and mentor young writers in their creative journey. We hope that you will join us for the 2019 Session of the Young Writers Institute.
