Where should I put my parking permit?
Permit Location 3Permit Location 1Parking permits should be placed on either the driver’s side, inside lower left corner of your windshield OR the driver’s side, passenger door small window portion that does not roll down.  For heavily tinted vehicles permits should be placed in the windshield location.

If you have a paper temporary or guest permit, it should be placed face first up and visible on the dashboard of your vehicle at all times. Permits placed upside down, on the floor of your vehicle, or otherwise obscured are not acceptable visibility. It is your responsibility to ensure they’re properly displayed as you leave your vehicle.

All motorcycle permits should be placed in a highly visible area.

I’m moving to a different dorm. Do I need to change my parking permit?
If you have a Restricted Permit you don’t need to make any changes to your permit.

If you have a Residential North or South Permit, please call UPD at (603) 535-2330 ext.2, Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., as you may not need to make any changes. If you do find that you need to make changes, please bring your current permit to UPD and exchange it.

During this time, please park your vehicle in UPD’s driveway to avoid parking without a valid permit on campus.

I’m bringing a different vehicle to campus. What should I do?
There are two options from which you may choose:

Remove your permit from your vehicle, place it on the vehicle you intend to bring to campus, go online and log in. Once you’ve logged in, choose the “Account” tab, then update your vehicle information under “Manage Vehicles.” Then go to the “View Permits” tab, choose the blue edit crayon for the correct permit number, and select the correct vehicle from the drop down menu. The permit barcode must match the vehicle it is on. The permit should be placed in the same location requirements.

Go online to purchase a temporary Guest Permit. These are available for daily, weekend, or weekly increments. Permits must be displayed face up on the dashboard at all times. Each Guest Permit states the authorized lot numbers in which you may park. Please note: Guest permits do not allow parking in residential North or South lots.

What is “activating” my permit?
Once you receive your stickered permit, you’ll need to log in to your account to activate it. When you activate your permit, it becomes valid.

Failure to activate your permit may result in a ticket.

Having troubles activating? Call UPD at (603) 535-2330 ext.2, Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m..

If I’m changing my student status, may I sell my permit?
Selling your permit is strictly prohibited! Any unauthorized person(s) who sells or purchases a campus parking permit is subject to fines, administrative discipline, and revocation of all parking rights on campus.

Instead, please bring your permit and ID to University Police and our staff will issue you a prorated refund for your permit minus a $10 administrative fee.

Please note: You must bring your ID with you. The refund is issued onto the credit card used at the time of purchase or by check mailed to the address used for the purchase. There is an administrative fee for this refund process.
