Safety Awareness – 4/4/2022

Safety Awareness

Dear Plymouth State Students,

As we enter the final weeks of the semester, this is a reminder that in the past, there have been dangerous drugs sold in New England, New Hampshire, and the Plymouth area that look like prescription medication.  Dangerous and potentially deadly Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, and other drugs have been pressed into pill form and made to look like Xanax, Adderall, or other prescription medications.  Street drugs, including marijuana, have also been laced with Fentanyl.

Emergencies: if you encounter a medical emergency contact 9-1-1.

If you are interested in confidential counseling, including for substance-related concerns, you can call the PSU Counseling Center at 603-535-2461 or visit them in person.  If you are in an emotional crisis, you can call or go to the PSU Counseling Center, or if after hours, call Lakes Region Mental Health Center/NH Rapid Response at 1-833-710-6477 or 1-603-524-1100 (option 9).  For more information about the PSU Counseling Center, please visit the following link: PSU Counseling Center.

If you have a substance-related concern for a friend or peer, please encourage them to access counseling resources. You may also provide information through the CARE program. Referrals to the CARE program focus on connection to helping resources rather than student conduct referral in accordance with PSU’s amnesty policies.
