There are many activities in modern society in which the interests of the public and the private sectors overlap. Public management is a form of applied political science, providing a way to understand the ongoing struggle between these two spheres of life. The Bachelor of Science in Public Management at Plymouth State University combines the study of politics and government with courses in business and economics.
Careers for those with public management training encompass both private enterprise and jobs with local, municipal, county, regional, state, federal and international agencies. The PSU Public Management program also provides preparation for graduate study in public administration and prospective employment in town, city and county management.
